The Metal Universe set (created by Fleer) was issued in one series totalling 250 standard-size cards.
The theme for the set was based on intermingling fantasy comic book elements with baseball, thus each card features a player set against a wide variety of bizarre backgrounds. The cards are grouped alphabetically within teams.
